Meet Our Leaders

PASTOR

I am a native of Ponchatoula, LA. I came to faith through a college ministry on Jan 1, 2004. I discipled at Bedico Baptist Church where I began to serve as a Sunday school teacher and then as an assistant church planter. I was ordained by Bedico Baptist Church, in June of 2013. I’ve been married for years to my wife Amy, the only woman I ever dated. We are blessed with three living children Eddie, Eli, and Abbie. Our oldest child, Rebekah, died when she was three weeks old in 2008. I enjoy any outdoor activity that involves my family. I am an avid camper, hunter, and fisherman. Everyone in the family is involved in scouting. I am an Eagle Scout. I like running but love bicycling.

Pastor Eddie was called to serve as Albany First Baptist Church’s pastor in July of 2021. Before that, he served as the community life pastor at Firewheel Bible Fellowship in Dallas, TX. A 2001 graduate of Ponchatoula High School, Eddie also holds degrees from Southeastern Louisiana University (B.S. & M.S.) and Dallas Theological Seminary (Th.M.).

Pastor Eddie has a passion for leading a church that prepares and equips its members to do ministry in their own context. His sermons are easy to follow, biblical and true to life. Before entering vocational ministry, Eddie owned and operated a small business that offered wetlands and endangered species surveys. He is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys hunting, fishing, jogging and cycling.
